Case Study
The Customer
A UK manufacturer of heat transfers for licensed players' names, numbers and badges with global 'Distribution' to brands, clubs, leagues and nations for application to professional team sport wear.
The Challenge
The company deals with 1500 customers located all over the world and handle about 15,000 orders a year. They have about 7000 SKUs and a very complicated pricing & discount structure that is based on customer relationship, product group, customer type, etc. Also, many of their products are sold as sets, even though they are made up of individual SKUs. When sold as sets, the set has a different pricing structure.

SKU specs & price matrix, customer profile, exchange rates, etc. are to be pulled from the ERP continuously and pushed to the webshop. Based on ERP data like credit limit and outstanding account balance, the webshop should allow or disallow customers to enter the webshop and transact business.

The customer had earlier developed a webshop with some other vendor. Due to poor system design and unfriendly interface, that webshop unsuccessful and could never be implemented.

eCommerce - Linked to ERP Architecture

The Solution

eBiz Global Corp did a thorough system study at UK with the help of their IT, accounts and administrative team. Then eBiz architectured the key components to ensure compatibility with ERP and tested it at site, before embarking on a full blown system design.

eBiz created a webshop with multi currency capabilities (to suit their European and US customers) and linked it to an international payment gateway that accepts several credit/debit cards and net banking. The shopping interface is designed to simulate the shopping experience in a department store. You pick products from shelves on top and drop them into the cart below. You see the product shelves and the cart simultaneously. eBiz’s webshop interface is exactly the same - pick products from top of screen to cart below in the same screen. This simple and intelligently designed convenience saves a lot of time, when compared to 99.9% of the webshops where one has to shuttle back & forth between the cart and view products screen.

In addition, the webshop allows customers to view their related confirmed sales order, delivery notes, invoices and shipments (all pulled from ERP automatically). All documents related to the webshop order are shown in one elegant screen. This feature allows customers to view their complete order cycle, and removes the necessity for them to call the company and check their order or shipment status.
